God Of War Pack

Heres a something cool coming out from the guys that make God Of War, this holiday season they will be releasing a 2 pack of the first 2 games.

This "holiday season," one Blu-ray will be released that houses both the original God of War and God of War II. These PS2 games will be remastered and pack 60 frames-per-second action, 720p graphics, and PlayStation Network Trophy support. 

With trophy support and somewhat updated graphics this will be a great time for people who havent played he games to jump on board. The price? $39.99, who else is getting this because I know I'm picking it up.

Disney Buys Marvel

I really don't know if this is good news or not but I'm not taking it well. Disney has bought Marvel for 4 billion dollars. The stock holders still need to approve the buy out but I'm sure they will. As long as Disney leaves Marvel alone and doesnt have Mickey Mouse Spider-Man crossovers we will be ok. But will the punisher still kill people? Will we still have the max series? Who knows. I know Disney own everything and things still run smoothly but I'm still more than a little concerned.

Video game deals of the week 8/30-9/5

Another week and not really many deals. I have scraped together a few things for you though...

- Target of course has the 360 at the new MSRP ($249.99/$299.99). But is also throwing in a free controller.

- At Best Buy all 360 games are Buy 1 get one 50% off. Not a bad deal. I am thinking of Guitar Hero 5 and Batman Arkham Aslyum, especially since you can mail away for Guitar Hero Van Halen for free. Rumor has it that all PS3 games will be Buy 1 get one 50% off starting on 9/6.

There you go. I do not know if companies are holding out to give us some better chances to buy stuff? Target did not even had any game sales in their ad, Toys R Us might of had some good stuff but I could not find their add. Well that's all, see you next week.

Console Price Wars & Rumors

As we all know (kick yourself if you do not) the Playstation 3 finally dropped in price after the offical announcement of the slim. We also know that the slim is only $299.99 and it comes with a 120gb hard drive. While there are still around the 80gb and 160gb bundles are $299.99/$399.99 respectively. We all also know that Microsoft countered this offer (again, you + kicking if you did not know), by dropping the price starting tommorow, (or in one hour and 57 minutes) of the Pro (60gb) to $249.99 and the Elite (120gb) to $299.99 

So the rumors are that the 360 Pro is being phased out, kiss it goodbye once it's gone. also that the new packing of the Elite's are NOT going to come with an HDMI cable anymore. Not even a component cable. Following Sony's lead I see? Anyways, the biggest rumor of all was found on ign today that a listing appeared on Germany's Amazon site for a 250gb Xbox 360 Elite with a copy of Forza 3. Forza is not set to release till Oct 27th so there is plenty of time to see if Microsoft will even release this bundle in the US. Would not be that surprised seeing as they recently released a bundle in Canada for $349.99 that includes Halo 3 and the wireless network adapter. 

p.s. All video game gold box at Amazon starts at Midnight PST. Sorry I can not find a link but I will add one in the morning when I wake up. Morning link update (It looks like it might be all Wii games.)

Kevin Smith / November 17th will be expensive.

I am a huge Kevin Smith fan, I was looking to buy the original Clerks movie soundtrack last week and stumbled upon a listing for it on Blu-Ray on Best Buy's website. :D I confirmed it today on www.highdefdigest.com that on November 17th of this year Clerks and Chasing Amy will both be releasing on blu ray. There will also be a boxed set that contains both of them plus Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back. As if buying two, possibly three blu rays is not bad enough, also releasing that day on blu ray is Fight Club, Scrubs season 9, and Star Trek. Have fun spending like $200 on blu rays that day.

p.s. Transformers Revenge of the Fallen on blu ray on October 20th.

p.p.s. Lord of the Rings Trilogy November 3rd.

Twilight Pictures

    I hate to say it but the Twilight saga does fall in to the category of movies that we cover around here. I do hate to do a whole post on it and do pictures and all that jazz so I will just refer you to someone else who has the pictures up. I know thats kind of a lazy way of doing it but I don't care it a 105 degrees where I'm at right now. Go here.

Hobbit News

Some cool Hobbit news for all us Lord of the Rings fans. Apparently there was a marathon screening of all three Lord of the Rings extended cuts in Imax last week. I would have gone but New York is a little bit out of the way for me. The cool news is that Ian Mckellan said he will be back as the Gandalf and expects to start shooting March of 2010. The better news is that Biblo is already cast and Mckellan said everyone will be please. I want to know I want to know NOW!!!

Cataclysm

   Big news on the WoW front as of a couple days ago, the 3rd expansion to the ever popular World of Warcraft was announced and displayed at BlizzCon '09. The expansion, called Cataclysm, is scheduled for release sometime in 2010. All the new features are highlighted in this debut trailer...

   I'm a big WoW fan and active player, so of couse on first viewing of the above video I proceeded to wet my pants and scream, scream like a 12 year old girl watching a clip of the Twilight sequel, Twilight 2: Twilight Harder.
   The announcement of this next explansion has me begging the age old question... Will WoW ever be stopped? What future MMO has what it takes to dethrone the king? WIll it be Champions Online? Or does the multi-console Final Fantasy XIV have the fanbase to snatch victory? My guess, the cold hard truth... WoW will only be outdone Blizzard's next MMO, in the year 2014. Until then, we can only look forward to the fourth, fifth and sixth WoW expansions respectively titled; 'Another Great Threat to Azeroth', 'We Are Running Out of Ideas', and 'Raid Bosses FTW'.
