Nintendo President had a bunch of interesting information for investors a meeting held today. Most of the information is just snippets but there is a lot. They are looking to expand upon Streetpass and Spotpass features of the 3DS. They also understand that they need to expand on their digital business since 60% of all 3DS systems (in Japan and America) have connected to the internet. Use of Nintendo Direct to help promote their products more is also one of the plans. To have you be able to maybe watch video preview then get a link to the demo. The 3DS is also in the planning stages of Asia. There is mention of the Wii U also. Such as it will be released in the next fiscal year, so some time after March. More specifically sometime between E3 and the end of the year, with more details of the final product at E3 this year. He says they learned their lesson with the 3DS launch and that Japan, America, Europe, and Australia will all have the new system by years end. The final topic of the meeting was the announcement of the Nintendo Network. It seems like it will be how Live and PSN are where you would have one account covering all games. The brief details given only state that network will offer "competitions and communication among users, as well as the sales of digital content, will be covered within the Nintendo Network". The network is supposed to cover the Wii U and 3DS, so hopefully we will get more details about that on. There's a run down of the meeting for you, go here if you want to check out the press release.
