I am moments removed from beating the first episode of The Walking Dead game from Telltale games. There is an easy way to explain the game, do you remember those old choose your own adventure books? The Goosebump ones specifically? It is choose your own Walking Dead game and it is a good one, it sets the tone of the book perfectly while letting you choose the way the story unfolds. You are put in some tense situations where you have to answer quickly, those answer will shape how people look at you and how they treat you. This is stays true to the book where the characters are the story not the zombies, if you are a fan of the books you will love the game. The pace of the game is amazing, it is not an action game, it is a story unfolding in front of you. Thats not to say there isn't any action, the zombie scenes are brutal and you are forced to act quickly. The the game is right around 2 hours but do the math, $20 if you buy a 5 episode pass, thats $10 hours for $20 which makes it longer than Uncharted 3. I would definitely recommend this for any fan of the series or any fans of good story telling.
Overall 9.0
Pros: Very much like the comic, good story telling, fun choose your own path, nice stylized graphics.
Cons: It is short but that is to be expected with the episodic format.

P.S I used the old Sly Comics grading format, what do you think?

Sony recently announced that SuperBot Entertainment will be making PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale. PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale will be Sony’s version of Super Smash Bros. So far they have announced 6 playable characters and 4 levels.
So far the roster includes Parappa from Parappa the Rappa, the Princess from Fat Princess, Kratos from God of War, Radec from Killzone, Sweet Tooth from Twisted Metal, and Sly Cooper from Sly Cooper series.
The levels are actually pretty interesting. They took 2 different games and combined them to make interactive levels. Here are the 4 announced levels. The levels are LittleBigPlanet/Buzz!, Jak and Daxter/Hot Shots Golf, God of War 3/Patapon, and God of War/Ratchet and Clank. If you would like to read more on how the levels interact you can go here.
We will probably see more roster additions and maps announcements as soon as we get to E3. I will try and update you guys on any new information as it's announced.
You can check out gameplay, characters and levels in the video below.
My question for you guys today is, who would you like to see in the game that's not announced yet? I would like to see characters from Metal Gear Solid, Yakuza, Resistance, Infamous, and Uncharted. -NickPosted at 03:31 PM in Games, Video Games, Videos | Permalink | Comments (0) | TrackBack (0)

Today amazon released an early announcement for the new God of War game. They released the cover art, not official, and a trailer. The trailer doesn’t show much but it's still cool to watch.
I love the God of War games. I've beaten all of them and I am really looking forward to this new one. Check out the trailer and let us know what you think.

Avengers vs X-Men is out, it is incredibly good, but since we can't continue reading the next 11 issues we are free to speculate. Around the office (twitter @slycomics) we have been discussing match ups, who would win and who would lose. The fight that seems to be causing the most confrontation is Spider-Man vs Colossus so we are bringing it here. Nick and I are in a stalemate about who would win so we are bringing it here. I don't want to tell you my choice and there is now way I'm telling you his, I want you to bring something to the table without hearing us first. Comment on here, you can also join our conversation on Twitter @slycomics and @ emogothtard.
This is Colossus not Juggernaut, I swear.

What up. Another week and another round of video game deals. Still looking pretty slow/bleh like last week but I guess that is to be expecting until some new games come out, or until summer when everyone has time to play all these games.
- Buy.com has the 32GB Vita memory card for $82.99.
- Gamestop is giving away a free game and case with a Vita purchase. (Choose from Hotshots Golf, Wipeout 2048, or Modnation Racers)
- K-Mart seems to have all Vita games 5% off and select games come with SWYR coupons as well (These coupons happen to be online only, but still). In store if you pick up a PS3 system you can get Mass Effect 3 for $29.99
- The Sony Store (online only?) has the Vita 3G system with a free copy of Uncharted: Golden Abyss
Best Buy
- Darksiders is $9.99, Borderlands GOTY is $19.99

- All Sims games (PC) are Buy 1 Get 1 Free

- Or get a 160gb PS3 and get a $25 gift card.
- Gears of War 3 is $24.99 and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is $29.99
- Assassin's Creed: Revelations is $34.99 and Battlefield 3 is $39.99
I don't know if this is the start of a big push on the Vita or what the plan is. I'm holding out for 20 free games like the 3DS but I know that will never happen. Some other good deals such as ME3 for $40 and MW3 for $30. Not to shabby if you need to grab something you haven't already.

I had to wait a week to actually watch the Comic-Con documentary but last night I sat down, downloaded the movie rental on the PSN, and watched. There are all kinds of things I can say but it is easy to sum up this movie in one word, Awesome! I am sitting here racking my brain, trying to pick something out that I didn't like about this movie and I can't. Credit has to go to Morgan Spurlock, Joss Whedon, Stan Lee, and all those involved in bringing this gem to not only the fans but everyone. I have been going to Comic-Con since 1996, I was there when you could walk around with out bumping in to people, when you could take a picture without people walking in front of you. The first thing the movie hit right on the head is the feeling you get when you are there, it's like being with family when you are there. You will never be in a place that has that many people who all have similar interests, you may say football games but we don't get drunk and fight like people at football games (don't steal a seat in Hall H though). The other point the movie made is how comics are starting to disappear on the floor at the Con, and for the most part this is true. People have been telling me for years now that it is no longer about comics but thats a partial truth. But there are still comics and it is still Comic-Con, to me the purpose has never change because it started with comics and in the end it is still about comics. What happened is we just let everyone else in to our home, we let the video game lovers, movie lovers, and everyone else because we are one and the same. This was a great movie for Comic-Con goers, for fans, for everyone, take a look in to our world and you will realize that we aren't what you though we were. When it comes down to it all I can say is I love this movie.

The Walking Dead will hit your local comic books stores in July, it is kind of crazy for me because back in 2004 I picked up issue #6 out of curiosity. I had no idea it would become one of my all time favorites, I will confidently tell you that I am the biggest Walking Dead fan you will ever meet. Back to issue 100, the cover has come out and it is incredible. Before you go scrolling down there are some spoilers so be warned.
I can't wait to see what Kirkman and Adlard have for us in this milestone issue.
