Walking Dead seems to be everywhere, its come a long way from that small zombie book years ago. I remember picking up my first issue, issue 6, I wouldn't read it until I found the first 5 which i did quickly. With a show, video game, novels, and board games, the franchise has blown up in to an international phenomenon. With merchandise an new opportunity opening up all the time I thought I would update you on a few.
- First item is something everyone is familiar with already, the show. Season thee will be heading to AMC in October like the last two years with some new faces. By now we have all seen Michonne and pictures of the Governor, these two are going to have some big shoes to fill. Not only are they extremely important characters but they will be making up for what the show lost when Shane died. But the cool news is this poster, I'm sure this is for Comic Con because the last few years there have been ones just like it. You have Michonne looking all kinds of crazy and the Governor looking........welcoming. HE looks like he's reaching out to help you, very interesting, take a look for yourselves.
-Next we have some news from Telltale who are the makers of the Walking Dead story telling style game. They have announced that there will be a season two that will continue after the first five episodes are completed. I for one couldn't be more excited, this has been a throw back to old choose your own adventure games and it is done very well. If you haven't played these yet you should, they are excellent and seem to be getting better and better. The third episode of the first season will hit in Mid August.
- And now for something brand new, Activision has announced a first person shooter game based on you guessed it, The Walking Dead. Terminal Reality will be making the game and it will focus on Merle and Daryl Dixon as they make their way to Atlanta. It sounds like it will be more like Fallout than Call of Duty so don't go crazy yet. They have said that food will need to be managed, same goes for ammunition and other supplies. If done right this could be very fun but they have to be careful, this could easily just turn in to another pointless shooter. The game will come to stores next year on PC, PS3, and Xbox 360.
