Oh Yeah, Remember That Marvel TV Show

    When the really surprising obvious news came out that Joss Whedon would be directing Avengers 2 everyone collectively said "cool". We all knew it was happening, what was surprising is that Whedon signed on for Avengers 2 and a yet to be named Marvel TV show. Well rumors flew around and around but now we have it, the show will be S.H.I.E.L.D. Yes Whedon will be making a S.H.I.E.L.D show which sounds absolutely awesome.

"ABC has ordered a pilot for S.H.I.E.L.D, a live-action series from The Avengers writer-director Joss Whedon, Marvel TV and ABC Studios. The project is based on Marvel's peacekeeping organization S.H.I.E.L.D (which stands for Strategic Hazard Intervention Espionage Logistics Directorate) found in both the Marvel comic book and feature film universes, including the blockbuster 2012 movie The Avengers, in which S.H.I.E.L.D director Nick Fury, recruits Iron Man, Captain America, the Hulk, and Thor to stop Thor's adoptive brother Loki from subjugating Earth.
S.H.I.E.L.D. will be written by Whedon, his bother Jed Whedon and Maurissa Tancharoen. Joss Whedon also is set to direct the pilot, schedule permitting. Production on the pilot, which marks the first live-action Marvel TV project to get a green light, will start immediately. Joss Whedon, Jed Whedon and Tancharoen executive produce with Jeffrey Bell and Marvel TV's Jeph Loeb."

    I immediately get that giddy feeling I used to get when I woke up early to watch Spider-Man and X-Men on Saturday morning. Who will get the cameo this week? Where will the story go this week? This has the potential to be amazing and show everyone some of the smaller characters, introduce Ant-Man, Doctor Strange, and the recently recovered Daredevil to the public. I'm just wondering who the main character will be, obviously Agent Coulson is the logical choice but unfortunately he didn't make it through Avengers. But all comic fans know, if you die you don't really die, unless you are in the Walking Dead but that is another conversation. All I know is this sounds amazing and I want to watch it now, we will keep you updated on all the news involving the Strategic Hazard Intervention Espionage Logistics Directorate.

Already looking forward to this! I'm sure most of us got love Joss and his work on Television and I'm excited to see him come back to the medium with a subject he clearly loves and understands.
