Arnold is back, I know I know Expendables 2 is coming out and he's in that but to me that's not him being back. Schwarzenegger needs to be the main guy, kicking ass and blowing stuff up, that's how I want my Schwarzenegger. Well here comes "The Last Stand" Arnolfs first movie and Kim Jee-Woons first English speaking movie. This seems like the same kind of action packed Arnold movie we love, plus it seems like it is playing to his elderly status. No one wants to see Arnold running around trying to be a young guy, but Bruce Willis proved you don't need to be young to be bad ass. Here is the synopsis for The Last Stand from Apple.
"After leaving his LAPD narcotics post following a bungled operation that left him wracked with remorse and regret, Sheriff Ray Owens (Schwarzenegger) moved out of Los Angeles and settled into a life fighting what little crime takes place in sleepy border town Sommerton Junction. But that peaceful existence is shattered when Gabriel Cortez (Eduardo Noriega), the most notorious, wanted drug kingpin in the western hemisphere, makes a deadly yet spectacular escape from an FBI prisoner convoy. With the help of a fierce band of lawless mercenaries led by the icy Burrell (Peter Stormare), Cortez begins racing towards the US-Mexico border at 250 mph in a specially-outfitted Corvette ZR1 with a hostage in tow."
Sign me up, I'm there. Who can turn down a classic action star in a good old fashioned action movie? I will be there opening weekend. Trailer after the bump.
