There weren't as many entries as I would have liked but the quality was extremely high so thank you. I had a hard time deciding, sometimes I go with something funny, sometimes I go with just good old stuff, this weeks was just a great entry. LDP is the winner of the Dr. Doom bust, check out his entry:
"My favorite villain would probably be Doom or Thanos, but only because they're such regal bad asses and that's too easy an answer, so instead of my favorite, I'll tell you who I think is THE BEST comic book villain: Alter Tse'elon from Y: The Last Man. When Yorick Brown is left as the last male human on the planet, Alter sets out on a mission from the IDF to secure him for Israel. It's imperative that she capture him to secure the future of her country and people. She's kind of like another great bad guy, Magneto, in the sense that her actions aren't necessarily born of evil, but rather out of a sense of duty to her people. Or at least it seems that way at first. As she gets progressively more and more ruthless through the series (even eclipsing Magneto and people like Doom and Norman Osborn) and as the assault on Israel that she was expecting were she not able to secure Yorick fails to materialize, you begin to understand her motivations a little more. Her nationalism and devotion was a front for the more complex psychological issues that drive her. Driven not by The Mission, but by her own survivor's guilt and suicidal self-loathing and a twisted, ironic misogyny that leads her to think of Yorick, as the last MAN in the world, as the only person left that's worthy of giving her the death she feels she deserves. The senseless, selfish reasoning behind her actions raises them from just ruthless to completely horrifying, but unlike the Ultrons and Darkseids and Carnages that we all love reading about, there is nothing cartoony or over the top about her. She is just a human like the few billion others on this planet and absolutely believable. There are tons of cool bad guys in comics. Alter Tse'elon is the only one that ever truly frightened me and made me think of the people around me and wonder what they were capable of, what terrors they could perpetrate for the saddest, most self-serving reasons. The Paternos of the world invariably make me think of her and that's why, even if I can't call her my favorite, I say she is THE BEST comic book villain I have ever read. She makes The Governor look like Paste Pot Pete."
Great original entry right? Make sure you come back tomorrow because we will be announcing the new give away. Thanks again everyone.
