Wanted to post a few things, but none of them really warranted their own individual post. Couldn't think of a clever post title either.
- First off, Diablo III has been confirmed for consoles via Twitter by a Blizzard community manager.
- Secondly, If by some strange chance you have not ever played the first Final Fantasy (or 2nd, which even though I own it in a few different ways I still never have), then you can pick up Final Fantasy Origins on PSN today. It includes FF1&2 for $9.99.
- Third-diddly, some guys in Wales realized that the underground oil chamber they were in happens to convey sound very well, and took the opportunity to sing the Halo theme. (Some NSFW language around :53 fyi)
Besides the fact that I don't really like used games, I am extremely against their habit of selling thier open copies of games as "new" copies. Apparently Glyde.com came up with a pretty good marketing campaign to take them on.
Not really. It's pretty slow today so here's a Lipton Brisk Iced Tea that features Darth Maul vs Yoda. Don't forget episode one will be back in theaters on February 10th in 3D.
I try not to take anything from other sites, other than news that is everywhere on the internet that is. But sometimes there is something so awesome on another site I have to put it up, and if you're wondering where a nerd goes for his nerd news my favorite is Topless Robot. They are great, that doesn't mean you need to stop coming here, seriously keep coming here. Well they posted an awesome lightsaber battle today, it is one of the best I have ever seen and that is saying a lot. You have to watch the whole thing, I assure you that you won't be disappointed.
I have always wanted to take a trip to New Zealand and do the whole Lord of the Rings tour, what a lot of people don't know is that most of what you see on the screen isn't there anymore. Yes you still get the beautiful landscape and all that but the buildings and a lot of other things simply aren't there. Well if you are as big of a Hobbit fan you are going to be excited, it looks as if Hobbiton will be left in it's entirety as a tourist destination and a decent price of $30. One day I will make it to New Zealand, I have a had friends go and currently have two friends going indefinitely, hopefully my time will come a few years down the road. What do you think? If you are a fan will you pay the incredibly high airfare to check it out?
I guess the Oakland Athletics had a Star Wars night on Friday and Darth Vader was on hand to throw out the first pitch. He got a good introduction, but his pitching fundamentals are all wrong. Whoever put up this video let us know how Vader was feeling after his pitch did not even make it to home plate without bouncing though.
In a follow up to my last post, we have a new video that includes Bill Hader and Christopher Lloyd. Man this video could have lead up to so many things including me owning a pair of these shoes, but unfortunately that will probably not be the case. There are only going to be 1500 pairs made and they are going to be auctioned off on eBay to help support the Michael J. Fox Foundation. The auctions started yesterday (I would have told you, but we sort lost power for awhile, might have heard about it.. no big woop) and I just checked and they are all hovering around $5000. Check out the site www.back4thefuture.com and here's the video:
I guess around a year ago Nike filed a patent for self lacing shoes which led to some speculation of what we have always dreamed of. Marty McFly's shoes from Back to the Future II. I think that dream might soon be a reality. Someone over at www.nicekicks.com got a last minute invitation from Nike to attend a private event, included in their invitation was a bunch of 80's paraphernalia including a personal message from Dr. Brown. You can check out pictures from the invite here and here is the aforementioned teaser from Nike entitled "McFly's Closet".
Not much going on today, but somewhat good news if you are in the need of an iPod. It's rumored that within the next few weeks Gamestop will begin accepting trade-in's on your favorite iOS devices (apparently they already have online?) No details if they are going to be reselling them or sending them to a third party, but the rumor points to them selling the used versions themselves. They might also start selling new iOS devices including the iPhone 5 in the next few months. So if you got an old iPod you don't need, or need some cash for the new one. This might be an easy way out.
